Sometimes I make wallets. In the past couple of days I have come up with two new designs. Well, in a way they are both recycled designs. Not exaclty “new”, but you’ll get the idea.
This is the “Space Guns Reversal” design, which is basically the negative of the original “Space Guns” wallet. Out of all of Warhol’s paintings I’ve always liked his “reversal” series more than anything else, so I took that idea and applied it to this wallet.
The second new wallet is the “Creepster”.
“Creepster” is a recycled design from a postcard/flyer I made to promote a Halloween inspired art show I hosted in 2005. Seeing as how Halloween is coming up I thought it would be fun to rework the image into a wallet design.

I got a new toy.
It’s the Flip Video Ultra. And it’s awesome! Check out their site for all the details. www.flipvideo.com
They make it super easy to upload videos to the internet. And the simplicity of using the device can be mastered by an eight year old in a matter of minutes. Now that I have a video camera I can make awesome videos of myself doing insane crazy x-games type bike tricks. Check it!
Also, I am now learning how to use iMovie a little bit. That was the first video I’ve ever edited in my life.

The Stenzskull solo show ends in ten days. Come by the gallery and check it out before it’s too late. You can now see most of the work on my site. Also, we got some press last week. If you are a SLO local hopefully you picked up the most recent issue of New Times (a new issue comes out every Thursday so today will be your last chance to get a copy). Of course with the craziness of today’s gadgets and gizmos you never really miss out because you can just go online for everything. (And I mean “everything“.) So, if you missed the printed version of New Times you can check out the article at http://newtimesslo.com/art/1010/cats-stacks-and-skulls/. Or, for the really adventurous, you can always zoom in on these photos (simply click on the photo) and hope not to strain your eyes too much.

Way too many hours staring at the computer screen the last couple of days. The end is in sight, but not quite here yet. What have I been doing, you ask (or I pretend you ask)? Well, I am working on getting all the Stenzskull artwork on my site. And I’m doing that in between posting things on etsy, checking out flickr and ordering goodies from www.buttonmakers.net. The good news is that I am very close to being done with the Stenzskull update. Against my better judgement I have been uploading things sporadically, as opposed to making one big upload with all the new artwork at once. I’ve never been a fan of having “coming soon” items on my site, but this time around I’ve decided to not be such a nazi bitch about it.
In San Luis Obispo art news 1/2 tones is back in town. Welcome back, homeslice! For those of you that don’t know 1/2 tones here is one of his deer paintings.

First off, I can’t stop picking this fucking scab on my lip.
Next, I’ve been trying to get all of my new pocket mirrors online. I have three up so far and hope to get the rest of them online real soon. Like by the end of the day. Let’s see, there are about 20 items on my “to do” list, so we’ll just have to wait and see if that gets done today. Here are the two newest ones. The world famous (yes, my dear 10,000 readers, “world famous”) Some Bitch Stole My Lunch Money.
And the almost “world famous” (at the time of this writing it’s super famous in the Pacific Northwest and Indonesia) Let’s Talk About Fidelity.
If you click on either photo you will be directed to the “pocket mirrors”, or as I like to refer to them “cocaine mirrors”, section of my etsy shop. There you will find more crucial info as well as have the option to purchase.
In other news, I should have all of the artwork from the Stenzskull solo show, “Cut & Paste”, available for your viewing pleasure very soon.

Awesome! The new Shepard Fairey book “E Pluribus Venom” is finally available! I was lucky enough to get a couple first edition copies for the gallery. Come on in to check it out in person and if you’re in some other part of the world you can always order it from my online shop.
(click photo to see a couple of sample pages from the book)
I’ve learned some stuff about books since I started selling them a couple of years ago. 100% of the books I sell are printed in China. Not 99% of them. 100%. That’s every single book I sell. This, of course, keeps the cost down for the publishers, which is great. The unfortunate trade off is that they never know exactly when new shipments of books are coming in. So, if something is in stock you have to grab it as fast as you can because it could be six months to a year before you can get it again. And a lot of these art books don’t go into multiple printings, so then you’ve really missed out. Then you’re stuck paying a super inflated price on ebay. And nobody wants to do that.

We basically made my booth look like a mini-version of the shop.
Goodies.
More goodies.
My booth was right next to my friends Matt and Kandace who own this awesome clothing line called MNKR, www.mnkr.com.
Here’s Matt totally pimping it.
MNKR goodies.
My friend and fellow local painter, Marni Mutrux, was there. www.mmutrux.com.
Here’s Marni too busy texting to look up and say hi.
My friend Shannon has been putting on this event for a few years now and it’s getting quite a following with over ninety artists participating. For more info visit http://www.artintheparkshellbeach.com.

Stenzskull came to the gallery this afternoon and applied his madness to the outside gallery wall. The reception/party for his solo exhibit is tomorrow night. I hope to see all your fine sexy asses there.
