Check out this awesome skate video by videographer Zachary Stowasser.
I love the plethora of camera angles and color chages. Most skate videos are filmed by one dude on a skateboard using a fish eye lens as he follows the other skater doing tricks. Which is totally fine and dandy, however, this film by Zachary not only documents some great skate footage, but it does so in an artistically unique way.

It’s present buying season! If you’re looking for a unique gift check out my line of handmade wallets. Each one is handmade in the middle of the night when I’m sleep deprived and driven and possibly consuming donuts while listening to Patton Oswalt.
Here are a few selections from Sketchbook #9. This first one was done sometime in December 2002.
I’m not sure how I accomplished such a nice half circle, but let’s pretend I did it totally freehand.
Three pages later in the book is this drawing dated January 15, 2003.
And on the very next page in the book is this piece I drew while sitting at a coffee shop, which isn’t something I normally do. I lived in South Pasadena at the time, which is a charming little town. Also, I don’t drink coffee, so I’m pretty sure I drew this while drinking a hot cocoa. Damn that sweet tooth of mine.

I have three new 8″ x 10″ prints available! Enjoy!
“Heritage”
8″ x 10″ print – signed and dated on the back.
available in my etsy shop.
“Gone But Not Forgotten”
8″ x 10″ print – signed and dated on the back.
available in my etsy shop.
“I Like Candy”
8″ x 10″ print – signed and dated on the back.
available in my etsy shop.
Remember, 8″ x 10″ is a standard frame size, which means you don’t have to take out a loan to get these framed. They are all matte finish which is nice because glossy finish tends to pick up fingerprints and also sticks to the glass of your frame.
To see all the 8″ x 10″ prints I have available visit my etsy shop.

This is my latest addiction.
“Noah’s Ark”
by CocoRosie
Thank you god for this fine day
Bless all the children of the world
And thank you for the plants
And the animals
Bring me sweet dreams tonight
And help me be good tomorrow
Noah’s Ark came to my house one day
With all his animals
And he took me away

Say goodbye to the shake rattle and roll of loose, noisy, cans. I’m so stoked on these new backpacks by SPRAYGROUND! They’re sleek, slim, and most importantly, ultra comfy! Eight can capacity has never looked so good.
They are $60 each and are available now at The Claassen Gallery.
I’m still flipping through Sketchbook #1 from 1997. Here’s three drawings for you to take a look at.
It looks like this was one of my drawings from a “stippling” phase. If I remember correctly the source material was a CK ad.
I’m a little hazy on this one, but I’m pretty sure it’s a drawing of Annie Lennox.
As for this little dude, I’m not sure what the source material was. I’m pretty sure I made up the face and I think I copied the suit and tie from a photo of Dali.
This concludes “Flashback Friday” this week. I hope you enjoyed it.

Typically, I avoid pencils at all costs. I just don’t like them. It’s the whole option to erase what you’ve done that gets me. As it turns out I was actually able to see these drawings through to completion. These are all portraits of authors I found in Sketchbook #1, which is from 1997 and quite possibly the early beginnings of my Bukowski phase.
Charles Bukowski
John Fante
For this next one I ditched the pencil for a stick of charcoal.
Ezra Pound
Hope you enjoyed the Flashback! To see more work from my old sketchbooks check out Flashback Friday.
