Here’s a little idea I thought of yesterday. I noticed my Facebook “About” page is pretty boring. Honestly though, I like it that way. I have no desire to list schools I’ve attended, jobs I’ve had, religious and political views, etc. My stalkers should have to do a little more leg work than simply looking at my facebook page. Right?
Then it hit me, I can list all the places where my artwork can be purchased in the “Work and Education” section.
Take a look:
If you’re an artist you can use this page to list any galleries you’re featured in. If you own a clothing/jewelry/etc line, you can use this to list all the shops that carry your goods.
For us independent artists/designers/DIY’ers I think this is a great way to better utilize your About page on Facebook. Although I sprinkle personal posts with ones to promote my business the main reason I’m on FB is business so there is no reason to list all of my past places of employment.

Coral has been working her little ass off on her blog, slo my gosh, and is trying to reach more people. So, I’m trying to get her more “likes” on her Facebook page. Of course, going straight to her blog is great, but to get updates on new posts the Facebook page comes in pretty handy. Check it out at www.facebook.com/SLOmygosh.

Yesterday I was driving behind Home Depot because that’s what I do when I see a long line of cars at the stop sign. Avoiding the cluster helps me not want to kill somebody. Anyway, behind Home Depot I happened upon a deer. It barely moved as I drove by, so I stopped, grabbed my phone and rolled down the window.
Like most of my iPhone photos I posted it on instagram. I actually didn’t use any of the instagram filters on this. I edited the photo with this free app I’m really into called “Picture Show” *. I was pretty happy with how the photo turned out and was stoked to see it get over 100 “likes” on instagram.
Here’s the funny part. The unedited photo is horrible.
My mirror, the red curb, miscellaneous trash in the weeds…it’s just bad.
The lesson: You can spend less than five minutes editing a photo and totally transform it from being a boring snapshop to a photo you’re proud of.
This photo is available as a canvas print, thanks to Instacanvas: order here
*It looks like Picture Show is now $1.99. If you’re into iphoneography I don’t think $1.99 is bad at all.
These came about because I was commissioned to paint four 6″ square paintings. I liked them so much that I decided to make prints out of them. Unfortunately, I did not get a very good photo of the fourth one in this series, which is why it’s not available as a print.

This is “sort of” new. I painted it awhile back, but never photographed it to put online. So, some of you might have seen this in person if you came into my shop. Otherwise, it’s something new that you haven’t seen before.
I’m calling it “Cabin Fever” because if I was a character in this painting I would probably be going crazy surrounded by all the others in such tight quarters.
This painting is 24″ x 48″ and is mixed media on wood.
$1000, plus shipping.
These are all matte finish high quality prints made in a real photo lab using state of the art equipment. In other words, they are not printed on a store bought ink jet printer on that cheap “photo” paper.
They are all signed and dated on the back.
$16 each, plus shipping.
