Yesterday I was driving behind Home Depot because that’s what I do when I see a long line of cars at the stop sign. Avoiding the cluster helps me not want to kill somebody. Anyway, behind Home Depot I happened upon a deer. It barely moved as I drove by, so I stopped, grabbed my phone and rolled down the window.

Like most of my iPhone photos I posted it on instagram. I actually didn’t use any of the instagram filters on this. I edited the photo with this free app I’m really into called “Picture Show” *. I was pretty happy with how the photo turned out and was stoked to see it get over 100 “likes” on instagram.

Here’s the funny part. The unedited photo is horrible.

My mirror, the red curb, miscellaneous trash in the weeds…it’s just bad.

The lesson: You can spend less than five minutes editing a photo and totally transform it from being a boring snapshop to a photo you’re proud of.
