One Way To Avoid Arrest

An artist/friend brought this into the gallery a few weeks ago and I think it’s awesome. And of course, there is no risk of getting arrested when you “artistically enhance” a train like this.

The Cheese Cake Man

The Cheese Cake Man

“The Cheese Cake Man”
6″ x 9″ – mixed media on vintage cookbook page

$30 – available at jeffclaassen.etsy.com

This is the latest painting in the ongoing “cookbook series”. There are more coming, but I can’t make any promises as to when or how soon. Sorry, us artsy types are generally unreliable with setting dates. C’mon, what do you expect?

Embodiment Video

I’m stoked that both my models ended up in the video. You can see Christy at 30 seconds. She’s the one in the middle. Jamie is at the 1:45 mark. Check it!

New Painting – A Delicate Place

A Delicate Place

“A Delicate Place”
48″ x 60″ – mixed media on wood
$1495

I finally finished! This painting has been sitting around my house for awhile now and I am very happy to have finished. It’s now hanging proudly in my gallery if you want to come by and check it out in person. It’s pretty big and better in person than in the photos. If you can’t swing by the gallery here are some detail shots to give you a better look at it.

What Goes Up

What Goes Up (The Desert) from Patrick Lawler on Vimeo.

Here’s an awesome video my friend Patrick made. Super fun times. I’m horrible in front of a camera if I have to talk, but I seem to do ok flipping around and jumping in the sand.

Please check out more of Pat’s videos at http://vimeo.com/patricklawler.

Please Think, Mrs. Knee Jerk

Vintage Movie Theatre Seat

I just heard somebody outside the gallery say, “What else can you do with spray paint besides graffiti?”

Well, lady, here are the things I have painted with spray paint.

– t-shirts
– skirts
– tote bags
– chairs
– tables
– benches
– flower pots
– sculptures
– bike
– stencils on fabric for upholstery
– lamps
– mixed media paintings on wood and canvas
– hats
– skateboards
– keys (to easily recognize what key works for my house door)
– milk crates
– shelves
– cabinets
– picture frames
– posters
– iphone covers
– welding helmet
– truck tailgate
– antique bathtub
– leather belts
– snowboard
– and I’m sure there are more things I’ve painted with spray paint that I just can’t think of at the moment.

Some of the customers that have bought paint from me have used it for everything from painting their entire car to a tanning bed.

And in case you need proof, here are some photos of things I’ve used spray paint on.
