Typically, I avoid pencils at all costs. I just don’t like them. It’s the whole option to erase what you’ve done that gets me. As it turns out I was actually able to see these drawings through to completion. These are all portraits of authors I found in Sketchbook #1, which is from 1997 and quite possibly the early beginnings of my Bukowski phase.
